September without apple picking? Impossible!
It’s one of the best times of the year to head out to the orchards around Montreal. McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Cortland, Spartan, and other varieties gradually ripen as the month goes on.
The Montérégie, the Laurentians, and Lanaudière regions are full of places where you can fill your bag with apples while enjoying a day outdoors.
And while you’re there, why not take the opportunity to stock up on local products? Cider, apple juice, pies, donuts, jams, and other treats are often part of the experience.

A new event to add to your calendar: Les Rendez-vous Gourmands, held in the Jardins des Floralies at Jean-Drapeau Park.
Over four weekends, the event celebrates Montreal’s culinary scene through a variety of themed experiences.
On the schedule: Le Grand Grill from September 4 to 7, the 88 (Huit-Huit) Asian Festival from September 10 to 13, followed by Montreal Oktoberfest on September 18, 19, and 20, as well as September 25, 26, and 27.
Montreal chefs, street food, tastings, workshops, music, and culinary discoveries await you in an outdoor setting perfect for enjoying the start of fall.

We’re kicking off the month with a classic: Burger Week!
From September 1 to 7, several Montreal restaurants are offering their own take on the burger. On the menu: reimagined classics, utterly decadent creations, and some surprisingly unique combinations.
The concept is simple: discover the creations from participating restaurants, try the ones that catch your eye, and take the opportunity to support local restaurants.
It’s the perfect excuse to go on a hunt for your favorite burger of the year!

🍺 September 4–7 — Bières et Saveurs de Chambly
Want to get out of Montreal for a bit? Head to Chambly for one of the biggest beer events of the fall.
“Bières et Saveurs de Chambly” returns to the Fort Chambly National Historic Site, featuring microbreweries, cideries, distilleries, non-alcoholic beverages, and a great selection of Quebec gourmet products.
It’s the perfect opportunity to discover new producers, sample a variety of local products, and enjoy the last beautiful days of summer in a setting that’s hard to beat.

🌮 September 5–7 — Taco Fest MTL
Tacos, guacamole, churros, tequila, mezcal… Taco Fest MTL transforms the Quai de l’Horloge in the Old Port into a true foodie fiesta during the Labor Day long weekend.
For three days, restaurant owners and chefs come together to offer an impressive variety of tacos and specialties inspired by Mexican cuisine.
Head there with a few friends—and, ideally, a big appetite!

🌴 September 8–19 — Martinique Gourmande
Need a little getaway without getting on a plane?
For nearly two weeks, Martinique Gourmande invites you to discover the flavors and culture of Martinique through various venues across Quebec.
Participating restaurants and mixologists are offering menus, dishes, cocktails, and desserts inspired by Martinique. This year marks the festival’s 19th edition, and it also features a Creole Market on September 12 and 13 at the Belvédère of the Centre des sciences in Montreal’s Old Port.

🎃 Starting September 12 — Dive into fall at Citrouilleville
Ready to officially kick off fall? Starting September 12, Citrouilleville opens its doors in Saint-Zotique for a new season filled with pumpkins and fall activities.
About 40 minutes from Montreal, this family-run farm transforms into a full-fledged themed village where young and old alike can enjoy the pumpkin fields, get lost in the corn maze, take a train ride, explore the various displays, and snap plenty of photos. Food trucks are also on hand to add a tasty touch to the outing.
A great idea for a day trip to enjoy the first days of fall… and start getting into the Halloween spirit! 🎃
